Freda Sue
Visual Artist based in Greenville, SC
A Taiwanese native, Freda Sue’s work explores her cross-cultural identity through a fusion of Eastern and Western artistic traditions in printmaking, painting and installation.
Sue serves as an Assistant Professor and the Foundations Coordinator at the University of South Carolina Upstate in her adopted home of South Carolina. She earned her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and is an active member of the Contemporary Print Collective and the Taiwan Society of Printmaking.

In the relentless pace of modern life, where noise drowns out nuance and complexity is often skirted for convenience, my artwork invites viewers to pause—to inhabit a quiet space where introspection becomes possible and necessary. Each piece I create is not merely an object of visual aesthetics but a layered journey that invites viewers to navigate the depths of their emotional and cognitive landscapes.
